Zva Hop!
I had a great time hoppin' around for the Zva Creative blog hop, and finally finished up something for one of the sketches!

Bling Bling
Yes, I'm aware that the term "bling bling" is, like, totally outdated by this time, hehe, but I'm still using it as the title for these 2005 photos that are FINALLY scrapped in an album! :)
I made this layout back in March at that scrap retreat...didn't love how my handwritten journaling turned out, but LOVED nestling little Prima centers into the Dear Lizzy trim!
I recently saw a FAB layout by Dina Wakley with green Pink Paislee gems nestled into the trim, and it reminded me that I hadn't posted this layout yet! Hers of course is bold and trendy and gorgeous...mine is more simple and classic, but EITHER WAY, ya gotta try nestling SOMETHING into that DL trim, I'm telling you! :)

Be Random!
After being challenged by Celeste Smith over at the Nook Crop to use this Random Color Generator, I made THIS:
My random colors were hues of gray and red-orange, which was great for this sushi theme. I used a strip of mini-patterned-paper squares from the packaging of the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl crafting kit, along with some SC Anthology, dew drops, ruffled trim from Pink Paislee, and one of my fave new EK success border punches.
Fun, bright, simple.
I'm definitely gonna give that color generator another whirl soon!

The sketch and palette were SO gorgeous, I had to play a couple of times!

So, if you hear random rooster-crowing that sounds KINDA like a rooster and KINDA like some strange mom embarrassing her kids in the middle of Target, you'll know it's just me getting excited all over again in anticipation of all the fun I'm about to have at Midnight Rooster. :)

Freestyle Fun
After reading THIS POST by May Flaum on Ali's blog the other day, I was REALLY in the mood to just grab a photo that spoke to me, and scrap for me and me ONLY, hehe...no worrying about trends or mass appeal or publication, etc etc. (which I definitely sometimes catch myself doing!)
The quick, no-stress scrapping was such a blast...I just turned on my tunes, grabbed whatever was close and fun and bright, and put this page together:
LOVE this photo of DD and cousin in such focused and animated conversation...they were really on one this day, and hardly ever see each other, so it's awesome to see them chat away so seriously when they're together!
If you don't have Lemon and Cream Maya Mists, GET SOME, hehe...such a blast to play with and great versatile colors!
The kids helped me make those smiley buttons, which is another happy element for me on the page, PLUS I'm in LOVE with the loose-ended orange twine!
So...grab a photo or two and enjoy some zero-stress, shiny, happy scrappin' TODAY! :)

The Full Monty!
Ok, here's a look at the projects from yesterday!
I LOVE the vintage flashcard sets from October Afternoon...the Farm Fresh one had perfect words for an anniversary mini. I covered the front with Dear Lizzy fabric...SO easy since it's adhesive-backed! Inside, I kept it super-simple, with little clusters of elements and word stickers...plus my fave butterfly stamp from Studio Calico!
Next up, this page with some of my new fave colors: Saffron and Indigo!
I used Shimmerz Spritz in Sapphire and Chickadee, which are both fab, and had fun diecutting and embossing old scraps from a Hambly overlay:
Last but not least, hehe, here's the result of my play with the new Pink Paislee goodies!!!
The Artisan Elements are a BLAST to alter! I coated mine with yellow glitter glue, then encrusted them with two types of metallic shimmer powder...fun fun fun! :)
Also, LOVE their new houndstooth tape, alpha, and paper:
