Happy Happy Halloween!

We're having a blast up in here...kids just went through our annual "Hall of Spookables" and ate our feast of mummy-dogs, jellied eyeballs, spooky hot cocoa, and pumpkin seeds!  Now we're off to decorate some caramel apples and watch Ichabod Crane! :)

Here's my last Snobby Walrus layouts, one of my little Alice all dressed up, and one of my little witch meeting one of her favorite authors:

Swiped some Charcoal mist in a fun pattern on the spiderweb paper.

Weaved some houndstooth ribbon around the Pink Paislee die-cut paper.

Pretty Little Studio...

Hello all! I'm back from my scrap retreat...had a blast AND came home with a dozen completed layouts, so I'm a happy girl.
Packing for the retreat, I grabbed a mix of new and old products, including my 2nd order from
Pretty Little Studio...if you haven't ever checked out their products, you really should!
They are vintage-adorable-fabulous, and were the finishing touch on 3 of my 12 retreat projects:

I ordered the matching journaling cards and circle accents in this vintage-girl theme, which were perfect for these photos of my daughters and their elaborate playtime fun!

I SO much miss the baby-days of motherhood...

Lastly, I used the Vintage Fall circles on this jumping-in-the-leaves layout:

It felt SO great to create for myself this past weekend...I'll be back later in the week to share more!

Hallowe'en Projects

Graphic 45's Hallowe'en In Wonderland is just one of those collections that I just couldn't stop creating with! 
I don't have a lot of October home decor, so I started with a thick-wrapped canvas for my kitchen:

I coated the thick sides of the canvas with black gesso, topped with Charcoal glimmer mist, which gave it this great glossy, oil-paint look.  Then I got to work with the exact-o knife and the Wonderland paper and popped the perimeter and the center for dimension:

 

I adhered the paper to the canvas with glossy Mod Podge, then added more in a circular pattern for added texture:

I really love how the circular texture of the Mod Podge really pops after I misted it with Spring Rain...gives an awesome iridescent look to the Alice image!

Love this addition to my spooky decor, and so do my kids...they love to look at it, heh!

My second project with the Snobby Walrus October kit features DUSTY ATTIC chipboard!

This tree is just awesome, am I right?! :)

I grounded the tree with a little cluster of embellishments:  G45 tag, 7G mini-label, Prima lace, and a Pink Paislee image, stamped with glam and misted with Tuscan Sun.

(FYI: although the Snobby Walrus kit page is not showing this kit currently, I BELIEVE you can still order this limited-release kit with an email)

I'm headed off tomorrow for my SECOND-ever scrap retreat...which hopefully means I'll be back with TONS of completed projects to share!

Love this photo of my oldest daughter...the soft OA papers & stickers along with that gorgeous custom embellishment were perfect for this contemplative pic.  Added a bit of  Charcoal  glimmer mist, some paint, and distress ink to complete this simple page.

Used simple color-blocking on this page of my little kindergartner's (now 4th grader's!) first Halloween at school...the number fabric, desk-chair varnished AC paper, and the misted/paint-penned embossed cardstock added lots of texture, and again, having fun with that exclusive stamp. :)

Dorothy's Prep School Reveal Pt. 1

Ok, I'm back from a weekend of Fall fun with these sweeties:

This classic Collage Press paper was perfect for these cherished photos of my dear Grandma, who passed away 10 years ago and who I deeply miss.

I love how this paper already has layered ephemera-style images on it, so all I needed to had was a few touches, plus words and photos to make it complete.

Rooster Inspiration

It's my week for inspiration over at the awesome Midnight Rooster blog!

Earlier in the week, I posted some cool images, to get that mojo flowin'...here's one of my favorites:

Aren't those cupcake ruffles the yummiest?!  (Check out Ruche for more cool fashion inspiration)

This image really got me in the mood for more handmade flower fun, so I went to town creating this:

Using some fabric, lace, and a pearl flower, I ruffled and misted to my heart's content...ahhhh, fun.

(Check out the October Kit Reveal on the 9th for the flower center and lace!  They come white and cream, and here I misted them with Banana Pudding, Cosmos, and Tuscan Sun).

Rooster October Sneaks!

The October kit over at Midnight Rooster debuts in just three short days!

Autumn sneaks...
