December Daily 2011...

Yep, that's right, 2011...not 2012, lol.
This year I haven't made time for a December album, though I did pick up some awesome little holiday kraft envelopes on sale today, that might make for a fun, quick holiday mini.

But LAST year, I totally rocked the December Daily process, on time even, whoo hoo!  It's just that after all that accomplishment of getting it done on time for once, I never shared it here, smiles.

Rest assured, the album has been well-loved and looked through this December, reminiscing about all the fun times we had last year.

So, without further ado, here is a photo-heavy showing of some of my favorite pages from last year's album:

For the covers, I used graph-pages from an old Scenic Route mini album kit...love how they look all shimmered up with various white art mediums+fake snow.

I printed out lots of hybrid journaling cards, and used lots of stitching to create pocket-pages for the tags.

Interactive fun:  With two eyelets, I attached one of the little flaps from the Lego Advent calendar...now it's a picture peek-a-boo!

Just love using vintage goodies and more hybrid printables to decorate this Maya Road envelope page.

Loved sequins last year, and still enjoy this sequins-pocket trend a year later!

Super-simple page here, but I just have to laugh every time I see that utterly-asleep-with-mouth-open picture on the bottom-right.

Ended the album with a picture-perfect vintage image from Pretty Little Studio.

Many thanks, as always, for stopping by, and for your sweet comments...I don't get around in blog-land lately as often as I'd like, but I do want you to know how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness, and YOUR crafty blog inspiration as well!

See you in 2013!

CK 2013 on newsstands today!

Guess what hits newsstands today?  Yep, if you guessed the first Creating Keepsakes issue of 2013, you're totally right!

I'm thrilled to have two layouts in this issue, and I'm equally thrilled to be able to share one with you here today:

As seen in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine. Copyright Creative Crafts Group. Posted with prior permission from the publisher.

I was going for a fresh, elegant love-theme there...AND at the time I was working on my GDT spot for My Mind's Eye, so lots of that product made it here onto this layout *smiles*.  Self-portraits rarely happen around here, neither do layouts without kids, so this layout adds some variety to my albums.

My second layout is all about snow.  You can see it HERE online at CK, along with some other great ideas for using yarn on your layouts.

If you'd like a chance to win a copy of this 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes, check out the CK Editors' blog and enter the giveaway.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I can't believe 2013 is so quickly approaching.  I'm excited for that fresh-start feeling of January 2013, but for now I'm planning on enjoying the remaining weeks we have left of 2012...I hope you're doing the same, and that you're able to sneak in some crafty time in December!

New Product Love...

Rarely do I make the time to just sit down and create with an order of new product, so I'm happy to be sharing a layout today, when I did just that!

A recent 2Peas order of goodies recently arrived, including some great new products from Elle's Studio, Glitz Design, KI Memories, Teresa Collins...swoon.

Since we've been making more yarn poms for our tree this year, it inspired me to make some teeny-tiny twine-poms here...fun!

Every day with these two cuties is definitely a gift...what gift are you grateful for today?

Giving Thanks...

As we Americans celebrate Thanksgiving,
I'm:
Grateful for today.
Grateful for motherhood.
Grateful for life & love & all those things that make existence worthwhile.
Grateful for delicious food (stuffing, potatoes, cream cheese broccoli, dixie salad, veggies with dip, and pecan bars are my favorites!)
Grateful to be a part of this process of craft creation & life documentation.
Grateful for all of you! :-)

Here are my November Gratitude projects for Vintage Street Market:

As we celebrate our Thanksgiving holiday, this retro decor piece adds a fun family element to the room.
The paper dolls, each representing one of our family-of-four, can be taken out & played with, then tucked back into the doily pocket.  Thankful for a sweet, thoughtful Dad, who bought me these vintage clothespins while on vacation. :-)  I glued them to an old mason metal/ceramic jar lid, as a base.

One last Gratitude project, a card that expresses Daily Thanks for someone special:

I'm sure each of us can easily think of someone we are thankful for daily.

Happy Thanksgiving!

LBD, A Very Fond Farewell...

Oh, how I have enjoyed creating each month with the uniquely vintage-tastic gorgeousness that is the kit club at Little Black Dress!  I enjoyed each kit of my 6-month DT term, but now it is time to bid a fond farewell.
These final projects are from the October Kit, Just For Today:

Nothin' but MME, vintage paper, and buttons on this one...and the cool vintage-style paper clip!

Love how this paper shows through the long tear/folds...and packaging serves as a title!

And another favorite:

Love this Unlearn quote, and the artsy way it all came together, with the cardboard, paint, and Zen bed-jumping photos. *smile*

October's Challenge was to use vintage photos...here's one of me in all my retro glory...man, I wish I still had that sweet ride!

Lots of paint, distressing, paper-piecing, and vintage ephemera here.

Fourth & Final, here is yet another Sushi layout from me...it just tickles me how much my kids love it.

LOVE this BG Konnichiwa paper...and went back to the old stand-by technique of printing journaling on vellum...love that vellum's making a comeback.

Thank you THANK YOU, to the entire Little Black Dress team for the great fun & friendship I've enjoyed with you for these past 6 months!

Counting Down to Creative Spaces Vol. 2!

Yes, it's true, I am thrilled to be part of the upcoming Creative Spaces Vol. 2, to be released by Creating Keepsakes in January!

Check out Megan's sneak peek here!

This awesome publication is another great tour of all types of fabulous craft spaces, and I'm honored that my little space has the chance to be among them!  So, if you like to be inspired by looking at clever & beautiful craft areas, be sure to check out the wonderful organization and decorating tips in Creative Spaces Vol.2.

As we countdown to the release of this publication, I'll be sharing a few tiny peeks along the way, so be sure to stay tuned.

And to leave you with some images, here's a layout I created with all types of doo-dads from October Afternoon...all those types of little products we're all looking for ways to creatively store:  buttons, twine, chipboard, stickers.

I just love this busy background paper, and decided to match the odds&ends scattered around it, with matching embellishments layered right over the top of each flat image.

A little "organized chaos" always brings a smile to my face, as do these photos I snapped on a day I was trying to "find art" in the everyday little details that are my life. :-)

LBD Always Dream...

Still catching up...forgive me.

The Always Dream September kit from Little Black Dress was a perfect fit for me...filled with gorgeous vintage touches, and favorite products from companies like My Mind's Eye, Jenni Bowlin, & Glitz Design...love it!

Here are my favorite projects with the kit:

LOVE the JBD diecut paper...here I back it with washi & woodgrain, & tucked in little journaling words that I printed out onto glossy photo paper.

Next up, a layout about a favorite vacation moment from this summer...we had a little caterpillar visitor crawling around on our laptop:

I love all the photos in this layout, but ended up feeling like I used a background that was too busy to highlight them well. Same issue with the paint-drip technique along the bottom...doesn't show up well here, but in real life it looks cooler *smiles*.  I also love how you can see the little grains of sand under little M's fingernail...hah, typical beach day.

Up next is a layout featuring one of my favorite papers from CHA this past summer...from MME:

Tucked in little goodies from Glitz...love the stickers & buttons from the kit too.

Last layout, a sweet, simple layout featuring Glitz & American Crafts from the kit:

Finally, my card from the kit...favorite card of the year, LOL:
