Get Picky...1st sketch of the New Year!

When I saw this month's circle-filled Get Picky sketch challenge, it reminded me of some fun
"toddler-blowing-milk-bubbles" photos that I have of my youngest daughter...great for the circle motif!

Polka-dots, painted background, round accents...from the milk bubbles in the photos to the border punch & looped twine...circles everywhere!

It's a New Year at Get Picky!

I can't believe it's already the second week of 2012, and I've completely neglected to post the current Get Picky challenge!
Get Picky's current inspiration is all about new beginnings...creating a layout inspired by a lovely, hopeful poem you can find HERE.

The lines in the poem that stood out to me were:

 

Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself,
And not be dependent on another's judgement of your accomplishments.  

Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you.

I chose to create a layout about our family's yearly Solstice celebration...each year we light a candle, review our gratitudes of the past year & our hopes for the new one.  Then we go outside to welcome back the return of the sun, and sprinkle crumbs & birdseed for the woodland creatures (from the Winter Solstice episode of the cartoon Little Bear). :-)

I'm so happy this month, to be guest designing back at Pretty Little Studio!

PLS has these great, large journaling pennant tags HERE...I so used one as a template, and cut three more out of patterned paper for photo mats.
