New Elle's + Sneaks!

By now you may have heard that Elle's Studio released their first-ever paper collections at CHA...and two of them, Day to Day, and You & Me, will be available to buy tomorrow!

I love both of these new collections, and can't wait to show my full projects using them in the February Elle's Studio DT gallery.

But, for now, here are my sneak peeks:

Aren't these papers great?  The kraft, the chalkboard, the colors...and the STAMPS I just love too.

Thanks for taking a peek at these new products, and be sure to watch for the Elle's Studio DT reveal on February 1st!

Gettin' Vintage...

With the holidays and CHA over, I never got the chance to share my festive projects for Vintage Street Market. they are!

First up, a Christmas layout...have you scrapped any holiday pics from 2012 yet?  I'm working on it. :-)
This layout is from Christmas...1965, that is:

I love that my mom put all her holiday goodies up on a big cardboard box, for a little photo-shoot.

Glassine, gold, and vintage carol see the product details of everything I used, check out the VSM blog HERE.

Next up, a fun little gingerbread card:

Love the crepe, the bingo cards, and the yarn-with-twine.

To start off the New Year, I created some nostalgic projects-in-pastel for
Vintage Street Market January:

Here's my little one, circa 2002, sitting in my scrapbook box. :-)

And finally, a card to go with some baked goodies...not that I'm going to be making anyone any baked goods soon, lol:

Happy January to you all...I'm getting excited to gear up for February, Valentine's, and all that good lovey-dovey stuff!

Creative Spaces Vol. 2 GIVEAWAY!

*revised with a GIVEAWAY!* excited...the release of Creative Spaces Vol. 2!

I'm thrilled to part of this inspiring issue...there's just nothing quite like getting a peek into the creative spaces of fellow crafters...a peek into what inspires them & the environment that gets them motivated to create!

The lovely team over at CK has given me an issue of this inspiring publication to give away on my blog, how wonderful is that?!

So, please leave a comment below to be entered to win, and I'll choose a winner once I return from CHA!

In honor of this issue release, here's a little sneak peek into my crafting space:

After a while of being on the lookout for a small, many-drawered piece that would fit my little nook at the bottom of the stairs, I scored this find during a Target seasonal it!

It's functional as well as closed, which is key to my space, since my scrap corner is open to the main family area of our home.

It stores SO MUCH stuff...plenty of room for all my mists, paints, trims, flowers, chipboard, vintage ephemera, glitter, glue gun, and other small tools.

So, when shopping for your own space, my advice is to keep your eyes peeled for great multi-compartment pieces in all shapes and sizes!

Up next, here's a little DIY project for you.  I bought basic white IKEA curtain rods for my valences, but wanted to spruce them up a little, since they were for my creating corner.

Here's my simple solution...easy custom finials that reflect my style:

I bought crystal finials (vintage ones or drawer pulls would be great for this), and attached them to the IKEA rod with long screws.
Then I topped them off by hot-gluing a large pearl brad, with the prongs cut off:

There you have it, a fun & super-quick way to add  a little bit of a unique crafty touch to your space!

Yep, I finally caved...

It's true, all these years, I've resisted spending the $$ on an electronic die-cutting machine, or expensive scrapbooking tool of any kind.

But for Christmas this year, I caved and got the Silhouette Cameo!
I have to's just amazing, I'm hooked.  In LOVE.

To illustrate the above-mentioned Love, here's a layout where I may or may not have gone overboard on the die-cut background:

Yep, I had fun making this, LOL.

Used a mix of old+new products along with the background, frame & title cut with the Cameo.
JBS, OA tape, & Pretty Little Studio, along with some super-old Heidi Swapp acetate those things but finally depleted my stash! :-)

Excited to continue to explore the fun possibilities of the Cameo...thanks for stopping by!
